Guba na Nature Refuge
Добавлен 14 июн 2016
We have 2 properties in south-east Queensland Australia, which we purchased for the sole purpose of flora and fauna conservation.
One property is 400 acres, located 10km west of Leyburn, Queensland Australia. This property is comprised entirely of old growth native scrub on sand soil. Our only objective with this property is to retain the native bushland and to protect it from feral animals and weed invasion.
The other property is 80 acres, and includes some riparian areas on the Thanes Creek 10km east of Leyburn. This property is severely degraded, having been cleared and grazed in a thoroughly irresponsible manner. We have our work cut out restoring this property to environmental value.
This channel is comprised of still photos and videos of wildlife observed on these properties near Leyburn, Queensland Australia.

Delightful Dingos
Dingos are a complex subject, steeped in emotive language and divisive opinions. We allow dingos to go unmolested on our property, because otherwise the kangaroo mobs graze out young trees before they have a chance and when the dingos are around, the foxes are noticeably absent: infra-red cameras tell the tale.

New water point - birds only
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.9 месяцев назад
This season is coming in hot ad dry, with early fires and an El Niño climate pattern. In response we have set up a raised watering point just for birds - in theory anyway. We'll see how that turns out. These are a couple of captures from the first camera card collected from the new site.
Leucistic Wallaby
Просмотров 2,1 тыс.11 месяцев назад
This lovely wild female black-striped wallaby (Notamacropus dorsalis) has a rare, natural hereditary condition called leucism - a partial loss of pigmentation which results in animals having white, mottled, or pale fur (or plumage if they are a bird, or scales if they are a reptile). Unlike albinism, leucism does not effect animals' eyes - her underlying skin and eyes remain dark coloured, and ...
Vale Ross

With immense sadness we advise that Ross has passed peacefully at his Queensland home, with faithful feline companion Pebbles on his lap, and his wife at his side. Ross defied all prognoses to achieve 10 years of cancer survivorship; time which enabled him to see his children grow to adulthood, and enjoy a life well lived. Clear skies and light winds, Ross. You are profoundly missed.
Where have we gone?

What to say here? Well, I guess the universe has decided that 'we' is soon to become 'me', as an aggressive brain tumour brings to an end a wonderful era, an enduring marriage, and a life well lived. These are the dark days that mark the end of the cancer journey, and all of my time is currently wrapped around my partner. Thank you for your understanding.

aridrecovery.org.au/ @aridrecovery9335 With thanks to cameraman Connor Footage of greater bilbies (Macrotis lagotis) at Arid Recovery Wildlife Reserve. Bilbies were once widespread across 70 per cent of mainland Australia. They were well known around Adelaide, especially in the city parklands, and were also recorded as living around Perth. By 1995 the bilby was classed as a threatened species, ...

Safe and warm in winter

It's only 4C, but this little Queenslander is feeling safe and warm in his winter woollies. Black-striped wallabies (Notamacropus dorsalis) are my favourite macropods. - shy and elusive, they have a preference for forested country with dense under story - which perfectly describes this refuge. Black-striped wallabies are all but gone from their former habitat in New South Wales, and are also di...

anyone have an idea of how many ticks a single crow will eat?
I am curious, what is more attractive to the crow: the tick itself or the blood inside of the tick?
Aku sangat menikmati dari video 1-4 Terima kasih Baru tahu kangaroos / wallabi dapat mempunyai parasit yang menempel
all my homies hate ticks
Funny how nature works
His ear was so torn up and bloody from the ticks that it got on the camera at the end😢
a sia cuervo come garrapata ciervo
Dam. 😳
Ive seen deer covered with ticks. I was expecting the crows to peck out the kangaroos eyes..
First tick feels like munching a apple
Nature is beautiful, mosquitoes and ticks are literal demons sent from the devil that are basically only here to suck out our life juices! Yay!
These Crows are heroes
Wallaby: What have I done deserve to deserve such kindness? Crow: Am hungry. Starving. Famished
Mmmm. Blood sausage.
Excellent tick removal service!
The dude on the left is like : "First time?"
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
It is strange that none of the crows are affected by ticks. When the bag full of ticks are separated from the kangaroo, they spread immediately, but they do not involve the crows. Surprise!!😮

Good grief, the density of flying insects is awful. No offense, but I'm not envious at all.
Is Ross’s wife have an Facebook page? I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved husband. I just came across the post of his passing tonight. What a legacy he left behind and phenomenal footage of what he was so passionate about. My deepest condolences again for your loss, to his entire family and friends.
Parasites like ticks and fleas are truly the most evil of bugs.
it looks so traumtized at the end too😭
The cow is like hey these are mine
That Crow learned from Gon in HXH.
Hideous looking ticks, the wallaby must be very hardy and tough.
nature is so amazing
Love watching the shanigans at the water hole.
Crows being bros
The fact that crows knows that this makes them scared that one of the crows developed a technique that he goes slowly but firmly so he can get it is beyond and above.
GYAT DAYUM
Did you see how beautiful those birds were @4:25 ..? They're called: _"Rosella Golden Mental"_
I’m itchy watching this

You know I didn’t really think of this but these animals are so fascinating. Something about the way the wallabies behave is really cool to me. I don’t live around these animals so I’ve never really seen them this close. And we all know crows are incredibly smart. And their aim is really impressive. I mean they almost never miss. And just the fact that they’re essentially just eating little sacks of wallaby blood is so wild to me.

All fun and games until the crows go too far and start picking at it's flesh...
We humans are weird
Dingos probably are the reason why there are little to no wild dogs or feral dogs in Australia. They likely out compete or even hunt them. Without Dingos feral dogs will probably spike causing the exact change in language that legislation is suppose to prevent.
Crows got a good deal here. Hang out by water and get brought tasty bugs.
look at Gods creation , perfect
Disgusting but oddly satisfying
Gosh. In Africa most of the animals that cannot groom themselves rely on birds who will stand on them and remove these little critters.
